Lesson 6 of 8
In Progress

Manage assembled objects

In this last video we investigate the relations between assemblies and components, and how to manage them.

The curtain wall is a typical case where the information is stored at multiple levels.

We see the information related to the curtain wall by clicking on the information sidesheet of the object.

To see the information of the plate only we hold SHIFT before hovering the object.

The plate component is selected and the related information is displayed in the information sidesheet.

The relation between an assembly and its components can be found in the “Relation” filter available in Kabandy.

This filter isolate the assembly and/or its components, and the single elements without sublevels.

In this example we calculate the surface area of the plates only, and of the entire curtain wall including the mullions.

The values, going from 5,300 to 5,000m², are different as expected.

Now we will see how to export detailed information about the assemblies or their components in Excel.

We first isolate the curtain walls with their plates and mullions.

By clicking on the export button, Kabandy asks us if we want to export assemblies or components’ information.

Both cannot be exported together to avoid double counting.

In this first export we have the plates and members components of the curtain wall.

In the second export we have the curtain wall’s information.

This closes the second module of the training program over Kabandy.
